Mar 16, 2006 · The "correct" pipe threads for hydraulic fitting are dryseal threads. They need lubrication to assure proper make-up, but shouldn't require any sealant. Most any of the pipe dopes with a teflon dispersion make for good lubricant. Loctite PST is good, but will bankrupt you in any significant quantity.
